A Day Without Space: Based on Truly Possible Events
11 AM - 11:50 AM | Captain America
Space activities are necessary to our way of life. Data, products, and services derived from space aid in water management, crop yield prediction, and power grid monitoring. They facilitate global telecommunications for applications ranging from banking to education to telemedicine. And they enable global navigation.
Space activities are rapidly accelerating, resulting in new opportunities on Earth—as well as new challenges to the safety and sustainability of the space environment. Reaping the current and future benefits of space requires that we sustain the outer space environment for current and future use.
On this panel, key space stakeholders will come together to address the benefits and challenges associated with the growing space economy. They'll discuss how to maximize the benefits of space through safe and sustainable space activities.
This panel features:
- Amber Charlesworth, Space Policy Lead, Amazon’s Project Kuiper
- Kaitlyn Johnson, Deputy Director and Fellow, Aerospace Security Project, International Security Program, Center for Strategic and International Studies
